Last semester, I was in Frary Dining Hall in the omelet line with a friend. Several friends of mine had all done our hair in twists over Spring break, so I guess out hair was similar, but our bodies/faces remain distinctive. Anyways, someone came up behind me, addressing me as a friend of mine who also had her hair in twists. When she realized I was not this girl, she turned and said hello to the person I was standing with, and then turned to me and said "hi, whoever you are." I told her my name (she didn't ask), and as she was walking away she said goodbye and said some random name of another black girl who goes to the school. She wasn't interested in apologizing or actually listening to my name.
