Resonance Of Rage

How Music has served as a source of self-expression, collective protest, and inner peace for the black community

Abstract

Resonance of Rage refers to the power of music as a UNIFYING FORCE in social movements of the past and present.

We launched this zine to explore Black revolutionary music genres and how they intersect with social movements of today.  It is a telling correspondence that is enduring, evolving, complex, and multi-faceted. We are not and will never be experts on the matter, but through our participatory research we will attempt to bring some of these collective voices together and identify how past themes of protest music connect throughout history and influence subversive black artists of today.

We would like to thank and honor theses artists who, through their music, bring us together, show us a true reflection of ourselves, and inspire us to reach for the harmony that lies beyond the toughest struggles. Our only hope is that this work is of some service to you.
