Three weeks ago, a group of students spent the early hours of Tuesday morning dispersing posters around campus. Each poster identified a different microaggression incident at CMC. The facilities department was kind enough to stand behind students of color and did not take the posters down, even though the posters did not bear the CMC approval stamp.
The same day these posters were put up around campus, two of them were defaced. Homophobic slurs were scrawled across some of the posters that pertained to gender and sexual orientation incidents. The defacement of the posters only underlines the need for change on this campus.
